Northern Roof Tiles
Northern Roof Tiles has since 1991 imported clay roofing tiles for England and other countries in Europe and around the world. One of our English tile suppliers is the Dreadnought Tile Company.
Dreadnought first started making tiles in 1805 and has been a family owned and operated company since 1902, so they have a long and very proud history, which includes the Ketley Brick Company which started making bricks is 1880 and was acquired by Dreadnought in 1964.

Ketley used the same Etruria Marl clay and uses the same firing methods as Dreadnought to produce their smooth faced bricks, brick slips, pavers, and quarries. Ketley does not use pigments, additives or surface coatings to create the range of shades they offer. Their blends are created by the delicate control of the kiln atmosphere known as ‘reduction firing’. Their gray bricks, called Staffordshire Blue, are created when all the oxygen is removed from the firing.
All the Ketley bricks, pavers and quarries are suitable for use both inside and out in even the harshest environments and weather conditions.
They offer a huge range of shapes and sizes and can, if required, replicate custom shapes….all part of the service from this 140 year old company.
Since 1991 Northern Roof Tiles has specialized in clay roof tiles but we are proud and excited to expand our specialty coverage to include this fine English made products.
